Jesper Hougaard Looks Forward To Live Poker Returning

We caught up with the two-time bracelet winner, Jesper “Kipster” Hougaard, who is currently escaping European lockdown in Dubai. He is excited to hear about The Festival.

“I have been told that the organizers will be setting up some big PLO cash games in Tallinn, so in that case I am very likely to come and the fun,” he says. “I am very happy to see live poker returning to Europe again soon! With my little brother PokerListings chief, Kresten as one of the main architects behind it, I will follow it closely if I make it or not.”

Kipster believes that adding casino games and sports betting as well as poker into The Festival’s schedule is clever. “Most poker players like to gamble on different variants of casino games, but by playing it as a tournament against other players, you can actually have an edge if you know how to play these games theoretically perfect. It’s also great to see so many non-Hold’Em events, it looks like it will be a very fun festival.”

When we tell Kipster that The Festival is planning on expanding with more stops in 2022, he responds with enthusiasm: “Make one of the stops a highroller stop, and I will definitely !”

Before hanging up, we ask Kipster about how poker is going for him at the moment. “I haven’t played for a while to be honest,” he its. “I did put in a lot of hours online towards the end of 2020 with good success. The bigger PLO games that are my bread and butter saw good action in this period, so it was fun to play again. I have not played any poker in 2021, but I look forward to getting into some live action again this year – it’s been a while”.

He’s not alone in looking forward to getting back into the live game. We can’t wait to stroll into a real bricks-and-mortar cardroom either, and we look forward to seeing Jesper Hougaard at the tables again very soon.
